Did you know that this forum community also works as a mobile app? 📲 Here’s how you can install it! ## 1) Download the Discourse App Download the [Discourse App](https://www.discourse.org/app) on your mobile phone, tablet or computer. The app works on: - Android - iPhone & iPad - Mac ## 2) Open the Discourse App Click on the Discourse App Icon on your device: ![Discourse App Icon](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex034/uploads/worldhistory/original/1X/1e97fc83ed2c9396cb591353cff628be000c97ac.png) ## 3) Allow Notifications When the app first opens, it will ask for permission to send you notifications. **Allow** notifications. However, sometimes you don’t, so it’s best to double-check this straight away! When using iOS, only regular notifications are available: ![Open World History Community-1](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex034/uploads/worldhistory/original/1X/f975b3728cb0947b2de1c1644cc2662bfa5983a8.png) ## 7) Add to Home Screen You can always access the community through the Discourse app. However, you can also install it as an app directly to your home screen. **Open your browser** (we’re using Google Chrome in our screenshots) and navigate to **[community.worldhistory.org](http://community.worldhistory.org)**. ### Android & Chrome Click on the **three dots** on the top right of your browser: ![Screenshot_20260713-153805~2](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex034/uploads/worldhistory/original/1X/bad6aeba7009f6d10d89848984470c068398bca3.jpeg) In that menu, scroll down (drag with your finger) until you see the **Install and create shortcut** option, and click on that. ![Screenshot_20260713-153855~2](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex034/uploads/worldhistory/original/1X/fe38df8b09f9a747a3787ce360ff228477ea1c38.jpeg) You will be prompted whether you want to install the app, and click on **Install**. ![Screenshot_20260713-154308](https://canada1.discourse-cdn.com/flex034/uploads/worldhistory/original/1X/9c12efcfe178ceb22d53c8e8b715e4f89d73e4ba.png) The app will now be in your list of apps. To add it to your home screen, **long-click** the app icon and select the **+ Add to home screen** option. ### iOS & Safari The instruction for iOS and Safari are essentially the same as for Chrome above, with slightly different wording. I downloaded the app last week and enabled all the notifications, but I’m still only getting email notifications when somebody replies and not actual notifications from the app. Just wondering if anybody else is having the same problem? I have a Samsung Galaxy (Android). ---

In the mobile app, check step #7 above again. Go to your profile’s preferences / notifications and check if Live Notifications is turned on.
