Did you know that Ancient History Encyclopedia (now World History Encyclopedia) was founded precisely upon this idea? History is global, and it is interconnected across space and time. The website was built from the ground up to map such connections and bring them to light.

I did not know that this was meant to be right from the beginning but I have always seen this since I discovered WHE and that‘s also why I like it so much!

Lucky I saw this, as I was also going to post the same article, haha.
It’s a fascinating piece, and it just further proves that every culture has an important role to play in history, no matter how big or small.
I’m glad that more people are beginning to see the impact of the global ancient world, one that goes beyond ancient Rome and ancient Greece. We still have a long way to go, but articles like this do a good job of opening people’s eyes.
