And - has anyone out there gone to the Hemingway Days Festival in Key West, Florida? If so, I’d love to hear about your experience. I was there in 2008 and it was a lot of fun.
This is also the birthday of Alexander the Great and Cat Stevens - and, I’m sure, plenty of other humans. But, for me, 21 July has long been the celebration of Hemingway’s Birthday. I used to host grand parties for this event.

Indeed. In the West, we’re brought up understanding Alexander as “the Great” - but he wasn’t so “Great” in Persian history. And still isn’t.
Forgot to add yesterday that 21 July is also the First Battle of Bull Run (First Manassas) in 1861 - the first major land battle of the American Civil War. What other historical events happened on 21 July? Everyone feel free to jump in on this…
