Would you want to sail the world in a Viking longboat? Sleeping on a tent on deck, having to poop over the side of the ship (in front of everyone) – no privacy?

When we lived on Crete, my late wife, Betsy, and I took a trip to Corfu on a 40-foot fishing boat. The trip to Corfu was fine - but the seriously terrifying ride to Ithaca and then back to Iraklion, Crete, on churning seas and high winds, was not a joy ride. So - never mind the “sleeping on deck” or the “pooping over the side of the ship” aspects - I would say NO just for the “Fear of Almost Certain Death” aspect. Especially when we were heading from Corfu to Ithaca. I have never understood how I got Betsy on the ship to Egypt after that - or anywhere else.
Ah yes churning seas… I have a memory of that as well in Greece. I was a little kid and we were on a ferry between some Aegean islands. Super rough seas, everyone was vomiting. It was disgusting… 
HA HA HA -YES! That’s my same memory of Aegean Sea Forays! Really brings “Odyssey” home on a deep level being there.
No, thanks. I need my privacy, everyday comforts (a bathroom, a bed, etc), and I also have a severe phobia of vomiting (emetophobia), so I’ll be in serious trouble if any vomiting occurs. 
HA HA HA HA! RIGHT! I agree, Liana. When I was younger, life-threatening ventures were “fun” - now I’d rather be on my couch with my hounds watching TV than clinging to a mast on a ship in the Aegean in a storm. No Vomit For Me! That should be a t-shirt.
