I’m Jan, the Founder of World History Encyclopedia. I’ve been part of WHE since I started coding the website on a commuter train in 2008. I’m not a historian, but I love history because I think it’s the greatest story ever told: Our story. The story of all humankind, that we all share and in which we can recognise how we’re all connected.
I’ve lived a bit all over the world, Germany, United States, France, Canada and mainly the United Kingdom (where I now live). On this forum, I’m excited to meet people from other countries and share views on history. We can all learn from each other.

Hello, I’m Heidi and I come from Dresden, in eastern Germany. I’m a qualified archivist and work professionally in the field of history. Dresden was completely destroyed in World War II, and I grew up hearing stories about the war. I’m looking for people who are also interested in history. I study various topics, especially from antiquity.
