As we close out the second quarter of 2026, we’re delighted to share what your support has made possible—from publishing new articles and books to expanding our educational programs and powering our servers. Thank you for making it all happen!
Editorial

We published 200 new articles during the first half of 2026, expanding our library of free history resources for readers around the world.

Members can subscribe to receive email notifications whenever we publish articles on their favorite topics or by their favorite contributors.

We’re also expanding our coverage of U.S. history, with Harrison beginning research and writing on the Reconstruction Era.
Ink of Ages

Our Ink of Ages Fiction Prize returns for its fourth year!
-
Writers from around the world are invited to submit original historical or mythology-inspired short stories set at least 50 years in the past. Entries of up to 2,000 words are eligible to win prizes from World History Encyclopedia and Oxford University Press.

Young writers are invited to participate as well. Authors ages 13–17 can enter our youth competition by submitting an original story between 800 and 1,000 words.

The contest is free to enter, and submissions are accepted in English from 14 July through 22 August 2026. Full details are available on the contest website.

Behind the scenes, we’ve also begun work on Dust & Divinity: Ink of Ages Volume Two, the second anthology in our growing series.
Fundraising

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, our June Server Costs Fundraiser raised $16,265 from 380 donors, including 218 first-time supporters.

The campaign also inspired 39 gifts of $100 or more, while 10 donors advanced to a new Giving Circle tier. Beyond helping fund our servers, this campaign expanded our community of supporters, strengthened relationships with existing donors, and grew our pipeline of future major donors.
Website & Mobile App Development

We signed a syndication agreement with Ekkow, which will allow our content to be distributed to platforms such as Yahoo News, MSN, NewsBreak, Apple News, libraries, and other publishing partners. Once approved, these partnerships will generate revenue through licensing and revenue-sharing agreements.

Jan also met with UNESCO to discuss incorporating its digital archive into our History AI Research Tool. Integrating UNESCO’s collections would greatly expand the tool’s research capabilities while opening the door to future collaborations with major museums and cultural institutions.

To improve discoverability, we updated our Google Play and Apple App Store listings to better reach history enthusiasts and improve rankings for the keyword “history.” We also significantly enhanced our website’s Schema structured data, helping search engines and AI systems better understand and cite our content.
Print Publishing

Echoes and Origins: Ink of Ages Volume One was published on 23 April, with DRM-free ebook editions now available through Patreon.

We also released The Romans: Antiquity’s Ultimate Transformative Culture, now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Google Play Books, Apple Books, and Patreon.

As our publishing program continues to grow, we’re recruiting a Book Marketing Specialist and volunteer Marketing Experts for Brand Growth to help expand awareness of our books, educational resources, mobile app, and broader mission.
Translation

Thanks to the outstanding work of our translation interns—Salomée (French), Ariana, Milagros Belén, Maria Selena, and Jorge (Spanish)—we’ve significantly expanded our multilingual content in recent months.

Newly translated articles, maps, infographics, and Ink of Ages winning stories are now reaching readers in multiple languages. Recent highlights include The House of the Tudor Family Tree or The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which are both available in French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Our video team continues to expand its coverage of Ancient Rome and Ancient Egypt, while experimenting with new formats including interviews and educational features.
